This black and white archival print is a consistent conversation piece. People usually think that this image of a sculpture found along the Piscataqua River in Portsmouth is of an actual bird. I have never shown this image to anyone without it initiating a conversation. Try it and you will see!
About Thomas Lavoie
My passion for photography began with capturing images on a Sony Mavica while on tour in Europe as a professional trumpet player in 2001 and 2002. Frustration with the limitations of this early digital camera in the dim light of cathedrals and opera houses motivated me to upgrade my equipment and begin a lifetime of learning and developing my skills as a photographer. Soon after acquiring my first professional DSLR, I sold my first press image to The Valley News in White River Junction, VT. That image ran the next day "front page above the fold".
